Problem 1: We have an articulated arm lamp that we like for a variety reasons in the office, but it is a floor lamp and is currently ON my desk. That’s two square feet of prime space that I want for my projects.

Solution: Get it off the table by putting it on the wall. To do that, I solved a different problem.

Problem 2: In rearranging, one of my cork/magnetic boards had to be taken down and it needs a new home.

Solution: Remove the lamp from the lamp base and attach it to the board, then mount the board securely on the wall.

It took a little finagling  but I got the lamp on the board finally and up on the wall – I think it looks great!  I also took the opportunity to put up some decorative shelves for photos. The space is really starting to come together!

I wanted to make these drawers a little more uniform and interesting while hiding the random jumbles inside.

With a little bit of paper and my printer I made labels so I’m not searching for the drawer I want.

I debated putting all of the labels on the left side, but I decided that it would be easier to look at them if they were all together.

I love how a little bit of work ends with such satisfaction! Yay!

Continuing on my scrapbooking shelf organization and prettification journey, I made a box to hold ugly and off-sized paper in a neat and attractive manner.

Here is the shelf with no organization or prettiness:

ICK!  Using scrap cardboard, Elmer’s glue, fabric, and spray adhesive, I made a divided box to sort this paper pile. It may not be decorated inside (I ran out of fabric),

but the organization is attractive enough for me!

And the outside makes up for it!

Ahhh … I am almost done with the shelf!!

I used to do my Spring and Fall Cleaning Extravaganzas over two to three days – a major endeavor, but I reserved the right to play MY music at whatever volume I wanted for those days and roommates just had to deal with it!

This year, it’s taking me longer and my music can’t be as loud, since Robin won’t nap through it.  Friends and family are coming over and keeping him occupied and fed for a few consecutive hours through the month so I can devote some uninterrupted time on the traditional cleaning frenzy.

My primary tools are a bottle of diy all-purpose-cleaner, a wet microfiber cloth, a dry microfiber cloth, and a toothbrush.  The light is bad and the space too small for any decent before and after pictures, but I cleaned the bathroom ceiling to floor. And then I took a shower in it!  I LOVE showering in a freshly cleaned bathroom!
